Comments: I was the Deck Division Officer And OOD until 10/68. In Vietnam in 1967 we thought there was a VC behind almost every tree, but I don't think our ship was shot at once. I made a stupid decision in 1968 and volunteered for PBR'S. I was in 22 gunfights in 1969 and thanks to God all of my men returned to the USA with only minor injuries. On the Tioga I served with many good men and would like to hear what happened to Roland Thronson, Bill Woodard and Art Carden and others.

Comments: I will never forget the TYPHOON in the South China Sea on our way from Danang to Japan. The first and only time I got sea sick. We lost both spring pack bearings and were dead in the water in 30' seas. Chief Briscoe saved our butts by making new bearings. Subic Bay what a place!!! Some great times, we were just kids trying to have fun. It would be nice to hear some other stories about the Tiger.

Comments: I wondered if anyone knew my Uncle- he served on the USS Lexington and was lost at sea in August 1957. His name is Tommy M. Chavez and came from Wagon Mound, NM.
